Muhammad Ali Passes Away at 74

The great Muhammad Ali passed away at the age of 74, late Friday.

The legendary boxer had fought Parkinson’s disease for several years, along with other recent health complications. Ali was reportedly hospitalized in the Phoenix area for respiratory issues.

Although Ali has been retired from boxing since 1981, his influence has stretched past the ring. He stands as an iconic figure in the fight for equality. His conversion to Islam and his stance on the military draft are just a couple examples of how one athlete can make an impact outside of his sport.

LeBron James has called him the greatest athlete of all time. Floyd Mayweather says Muhammad Ali “paved the way” for him.

Ali will not only be remembered as a legendary boxer, but as one of the most influential athletes of all time. Right up there with Jackie Robinson. The man truly made an impact with the 74 years he was given.

Just to give an example of how fast Ali truly was, here’s a video of him dodging 21 punches in 10 seconds. And he finishes it off with a little dance for style points.
